Film Club Next Week
Upcoming Anora discussion; reviews/interviews; a film clubber on stage; library corner
Next Meeting: Monday, December 9th, 6:30pm
Location: Zoom
Hello Film Clubbers!
I can’t wait to discuss one of the year’s most heralded movies with you all! Will Film Club agree with many critics? Will Anora win all the Oscars? Should it? We shall hash it out!
Writer/director Sean Baker has made a couple films almost discussed by Film Club — if you haven’t seen The Florida Project, Red Rocket, or Tangerine yet — you may want to make that happen! The latter two are available on library DVD and Kanopy; The Florida Project is streaming on MAX and could be obtained through ILL.
Keep scrolling for some interviews/reviews about Anora and an opportunity to see one of our own on stage!

If you read one of these, I’d vote for this interview between Mikey Madison and the one and only Isabelle Huppert.
Sean Baker goes long with The Film Stage.
An early Anora review out of Cannes — where it would win the Palme D’Or.
BFI argues that Anora is Sean Baker’s most vivid creation yet.
Film Club’s own Grant McGee is in an upcoming presentation of this beloved play!! This may have something to do with why we haven’t seen him as much lately. You can snag tickets here, or click the image.
I have been unable to attend anything due to family obligations. But I am going to do my best to make this discussion happen.
definitely going to try and get to this one! Loved the film and need to talk about it with people.
